Kevin Barry was born in Limerick in 1969.

His first collection of stories There Are Little Kingdoms (Dublin, Stinging Fly Press, 2007) featured as a book of the year in both The Sunday Tribune and The Irish Times and was awarded the 2007 Rooney Prize for Irish Literature.

He lives in Dublin.
