Events at the Festival

Focusing the Festival's programme on our core audience groups: children, adults, seniors (including international audiences) we would like to include into the 2008 Festival programme new events such as the introduction of musical concerts covering all genres of music from classical to rock and all points in-between; readings by well known authors for adults and children; writing workshops, again for adults and children; films, showing contemporary Irish and world cinema; talks on the area and an opportunity to learn about the culture of others, people who are new not only to Chapelizod but also to Ireland.

We are looking to expand the opening of the festival so that it becomes more of a village fayre including traditional country games, stalls, a farmers market, food stalls, classic cars display as well as the usual events held at the opening and to follow this with a barbeque and music into the evening. By offering a lot of non-time specific events we hope this will mean that everyone can find something that they enjoy and participate in.
